Girls at Pique Nique

The girlfriends and I had the rarest chance ever to meet up on a Tuesday afternoon for brunch :) The initial plan was to go to Riders Cafe at 11am but it was fully reserved, we managed to get our booking at 1pm but there'll be no brunch available. so wellll.. Pique Nique is it :) We wanted to try Paul but the queue was so long and we were too famished! hahaa
Pique Nique serves all day breakfast and so we still managed to have our brunch :)
-left: extremely thick clam chowder soup at $8.90. this is worth getting because the texture was really thick and filled with alot of ingredients
- right: cheryl's (can't remember :/) - inside the omelette is mushrooms, potatoes and onion. the white toast was normal though!

- right: my classic eggs Benedict at $12! it was normal but satisfiable for me. hehe
Rach had farmer's ($10), which comes with bratwurst sausage, eggs any style and English muffin

My latte and our lovely afternoon :)
we had a great afternoon and cheers to our many many years of lovely friendship :) you girls rocks! <3<3

猫的天空之城

Whenever I think of my Hangzhou service learning trip 1.5 years ago, I'll be reminded of my extended days at Suzhou with 4 others friends... So today, I decided to blog about a card I received 1 month plus ago which I sent to myself from Momi Cafe.

Our short trip to Suzhou was filled with a lot of walking and scenery/sight seeing. In the night, the few of us would go in search for a nice little cafe to get a cup of hot drink to keep ourselves warm in 4 degrees Celsius. We happened to pass by 猫的天空之城 and I think that was one of the best choice we've ever made :)

We ended up hanging around in the cafe for 2 hours before heading for extremely late dinner :/ I love the cafe, I love the ambience and the concept. The first thing that caught my attention was the Postcard and the "mail to future" wall.

Postcard: simply different postcards from China
Mail to future: 365 days of  small cells on the wall for you to choose 1 to drop in your postcard to mail to yourself/recipients!
so this was mine!! and behind are messages written by myself and my friends haha :)
me and the pretty lady :) she makes milk tea for us :D

Black&white

what do you think will happen if there's no colors in our world? what if everything's painted in black and white? would we be less happier than now? would we see things in a different perspective? would we eat our food with less joy? would we not appreciate our beautiful cities and buildings more than today?

I think the world is amazing. The people are amazing. It's because of some of these people we get to live in a wonderful environment, a world which we often take granted for. We always think we are only happy when we are young but is it because we give ourselves too much pressure to be better than others? Comparison is good, sure it does helps us to improve ourself. But, too much....? I don't like it

I always wonder about what I want to do or should do. Today. Later. Tomorrow. Next Week. The unforeseeable future. It seems like I don't know.. or maybe I'm not a risk-taker (yet, i hope) I always thought it's right to study to the highest level, go get a good job, get promotion and that's life. But then.. life is short. we only live life once. So how?
I often question how people find their passion, how people seems to excel in everything. How do they take their first step to do what they want to do. Would I be able to do that in the near future? I'm still in search for this little thing. I see and think about random stuff day and night but at the end of day, for now, I'm content with living simple.

Ah Loy Thai

I was struggling to stay awake in class this morning. My project presentation and 2 mid-terms are finally over. I do feel a sense of relief but at the same time I'm feeling extremely jaded. The thought of amount of work, projects, assignments and readings coming up... tires my whole soul. I think I'm sick of studying, I've been studying for the past 20~ years I feel the need to stop. Big sigh.
finished our paper 1 hour earlier so we get to rest the body with a walk around Raffles City!

Went back for class and met the boyf for dinner. We went to Ah Loy Thai located at Shaw Tower - I've heard many ravings from my friends but I usually don't queue for more than 30 minutes :/ so this time we get to try since we were earlier and the queue wasn't that long!
Pardon the tired looking face after 11 hour of school and 5 hours of sleep a day! :/

The rest of pictures from my iPhone4S because my camera lens got error -__-
Fried tofu and basil chicken! the tofu is a MUST TRYYYYYYYYY. we love it so much!
tomyum soup for us to share. it was so so spicy!!! but so much better and cheaper than Porn's - their soup is too sour!
we shared the milk tea but ended up couldn't take the spice and ordered another haha.
Anyway, I think Ah Loy Thai is worth the price and try! Our portion can fill at least 2.5 to 3 person and it's almost half the price of our Porn's dinner. so Yay!
