Paul Bakery

Been wanting to dine in Paul for the longest time but this French bakery was always filled with long queues. The last time we went we only managed to takeaway their bread and chocolate tarts and finally few days back at town, decided to try our luck and yay, no queue, no wait :)
should had ordered a cuppa latte! :< i thought their coffee was the kind of freshly brewed but it was expresso shots. hahaa
Ordered Tartine champignons for myself and the gf had normal $6.90 brekkie set - added mushrooms at $1.50 and turkey ham at $1.50. should had ordered hers!!! :< mine was $16.50 for bread, mushrooms and salad. v unworthy I feel! ended up eating her eggs and ham hahaha <3<3
OTD: CWC Alaia Printed Midi
after our brunch, we combed the entire orchard - suntec - bugis.
imagine the 2 tired souls at the end of day

I wish food was free

It's 847am on a Saturday morning and I'm up! :D been trying to adopt 'healthy lifestyle' by sleeping early (before 12) and waking up at 8plus in the morning. I'm usually zonked out by 11 because of work/long day out!

After my last paper 1 week ago (o.O time flies), went in search for random food to eat!
Millenia walk for twelve cupcakes!
Picked 2 flavors to try just before dinner! I loveeeeeeeee the red velvet one, cookies and cream not bad too!! Like that the cream is not too oily but it was still too much I feel. Little bites of bliss indeed.

Round and round inside the mall before deciding on Ma Maison for dinner! I was craving for FRIED PORK CUTLET (idk why hahaa) that day. Ma Maison at MW had a totally different concept from the one at MG. They've got such beauty interior, all dimmed and filled with floral.
finished every single bit and left feeling extremely satisfied :D it was very good, the cutlet was very crispy and very yummy when it's piping hot. Comes with a weird sour sauce which I kinda like it after that.
Jack had errrr hamburger steak lol. The steak was very soft but the sauce was also kind of sour in my opinion?..
the key to the cashier

It is always me begging for desserts after our meals. The bf don't really have a habit of taking sweet stuff but after some long 6 years, he's v used to asking what I want after dinner lol. Didn't know what to go for and chanced upon Joe&Dough! They were having promotion set, a cuppa coffee/tea and slice of cake @ $8.90!
so the whole cake for me and coffee for him :D It was their hot-selling cranberry yoghurt cake, like it that it's not too sweet - just nice for my liking! They have one in blueberries flavour but all sold!

916am, just nice! Gotta prepare for work now.
Happy Weekends! :)

Bitter or better?

i kinda watched this over and over again. i think Nick Vujicic is a really strong man. i wondered, if i'm ever born this way, could i live to date? i guess many a times, all of us take things for granted... Our families, what we have, our friends, the luxuries to have a home, a nice chair to sit in, an university to study in, to have hands and feet to eat, move, hold things, walk, run, work, swim properly. we make a fuss out of small things, we get angry for nothing, we want this, we want that. we kinda.. expect too much from life, and people. of course not saying we can't have any needs, but i guess comparing too much may not help resolve any issues. if we want something, make it happen ourselves.

"the human spirit can handle much more than we realize". true. if you think about it, there are actually many things that you think you can't do it but in reality, you have already got it over and done with.. or it's in progress. maybe it's our process of learning and growing we often forget to look back and think 'hey, that was an achievement i've made' but only grumble on what we don't have or can't have. i am and still is satisfied with life but it'll be good to have a constant reminder that i should be contented. like Nick mentioned, we gotta be thankful for what we have. not bitter of what we don't have. i guess it's always easier to get through days with positive and healthy mindset.

these day, it seems like a sign that i should know something, kinda bummed into many reality hits that makes me think so much. came across this article that struck my thoughts too.

and this..

來信 - it's a video about this old man visiting his kids and grandchildren before passing away. it's soooooo sad :( shouldn't make it a point to forget our parents are growing old while we're too..... just got reminded that my grandfather had a fell 2 weeks ago and i haven't make time to visit him. guilt stricken.

Saturday brunch

last saturday was a little special because mum and i didn't had work. they wanted to try the coffee bean breakfast set which i have been frequenting quite often and so we made our way to the railway mall branch haha. the place was filled with adults reading newspapers, video watching and students with books... while me, people watching lol
3 different sets, equally good. the lil' bro treated us to a slice of carrot cake for share after our brunch! haha.

just done with my second paper this morning. one more to go this Saturday! sooo sleeeepy (and it's raining...), probably i should get a 30 minutes power nap before I start studying!

I like my bowl filled with greens

taking a break amidst studying, was deciding if I should go out to get lunch or just cook. i was plain lazy, so I opened the fridge and tadah! whipped out a healthier meal out of an unhealthy choice. haha so it was kimchi maggie (again) =/ except this time I had whole bowl filled with veggies, mushrooms and carrots!

Hi korea

finally received this in my inbox after my paper today. the sad thing is spending every penny I've saved for this summer experience. but...(i'll skip the cliche part).. and make this an unforgettable experience

"My friends are my estate"
It's the times we're so crazy, that people think we're high.
It's the times we laugh so hard, we can't help but cry.
It's all the inside jokes and "remember whens".

Settled for dinner at AJinoMori @ Holland Village with the girls. It's been awhile since the 6 of us last met!! :)  V amazing how girls can just go on and on about everything. My bf thinks that's extremely true of me too ahaha
The restaurant definitely does have an extremely cozy interior. Great ambience. We were lucky to get the cushioned seats instead of normal ones. But the troublesome but quite homely feel part is.. no shoes allowed!! (so don't choose it if your feet stinks hahaha!)
There was quite limited selection of meals on the menu though... but you can find sushi platters and stuffs.
Pork Sukiyaki for me and Kimchi flavoured one for yh! I would say it's not bad and I love it :) $15/each
lol the rest had same curry rice (limited choices!!) and udon for rill!
cheers to fooooooooooood. tucked in immediately!
